Orgullo
La cultura. On a tee.
Mexico did not end at any border. It carried itself forward - in language, in food, in music, in the names people give their children, in the stories told at kitchen tables at midnight. La Bandera, with its eagle and serpent and cactus, has been stared at and stolen from and outlasted every administration that tried to redefine it. El Nopal, with its thorns and all, especially the thorns - the national plant of a country that learned early that beautiful things protect themselves. El Mundo, because Mexico is not on the periphery of anything. El Apache, because never conquered means never conquered, regardless of what the maps say. La Corona, because one crown has always mattered and it was not placed there by anyone else. These shirts are not souvenirs. They are statements about whose culture this is and always has been.
